“It’s Only Hair” is funny, heartening, thought-provoking and educational. Pretty great for a short book! The chapter on parenting a child with hair loss was so good that it would be helpful for parents trying to raise a child with any physical feature that could lead to being teased or stared at.
It was a revelation to me how hair obsessed we are as a society. I have never had an issue with hair loss, but this book is a treasure for those who do and their loved ones. Beyond that, the sharing of insights of this remarkable woman, totally honest about the ups and downs of her alopecia and depression, is memorable and well worth reading.

As a person who doesn’t suffer from hair loss I truly enjoyed this book. It was very educational about all sorts of hair loss, but it also includes great personal stories from Chris and others. It was inspiring for me in other accepts of life besides hair loss. The last few chapters are about attitude and how we view our lives and how we can change our own lives. A great read.

I thoroughly enjoyed it’s only hair, it game me insight into what a friend with alopecia goes through. If you are suffering from hair loss or know someone who is for whatever reason, read this book. Mrs. Wevik writes in a conversational style, it felt like she was sitting in the room talking with me. Her out look on life is inspiring. I highly recommend this for anyone hair loss or not.
